I hope you guys enjoy my review of Contra Hard Corps. In today's review, well be taking an in depth look at this legendary Sega Genesis game. I was first confused by the title of the genesis release and always called it Contra Hard Corps rather than Contra Hard Core, now that that’s out of the way we’ll stick to Contra Hard Core for pronunciation. Another true classic for years to come.įast forward a couple of years, in 1994 when Konami had yet another release up their sleeves on a 16 bit console with Contra Hard Corps on the Sega Genesis. Patrick, thank you.Contra 3 The Alien Wars was released on the super Nintendo in 1992 as a sequel to the NES counterparts.īeing a killer app on Nintendo’s new console, it delivered on fantastic graphics, larger sprites and a unique approach to Nintendo’s new mode 7 graphics. That said, it looks like that comments section was the time and place where Patrick turned me on to Sakimoto and Iwata’s work on Gauntlet IV. But man, Gilbert and Antista were insufferable dickwads on that episode. Speaking of which, given the chat at the end of the episode about the Golden Axe episode and Genesis bashing, I went back and checked the comments….Yup, that was me taking up half the freaking comments section, going to bat for the Genesis.

It’s grown on me, especially the ending track, but even as a Sega nerd, I was all about SC3. I gotta say, I loved Super Contra 3 back in the day but I was not a huge fan of Hard Corp’s music.

The game sucks, but the OST is considered by some to be the best.

If folks here haven’t yet, you all need to go out and listen to the MSX2 version. Hey Brett and Patrick, another great episode! Gotta say, I loved hearing the arcade versions back to back with the NES versions.
